The Future of Mobilities Research in Australia and Beyond
Thursday 7 – Friday 8 December 2017
School of Geography, University of Melbourne, Carlton, Victoria
We are excited to announce the launch symposium of AusMob – the Australian Mobilities Network which is taking place on 7-8 December in Melbourne. We hope that you will be interested in joining us!
Mobilities research being undertaken in Australia across the social sciences and humanities has grown rapidly in recent years. The AusMob launch symposium will showcase the diversity of mobilities research going on in this part of the world and connect researchers working on topics related to mobility. The symposium presents an exciting opportunity to explore how mobilities research in Australia is contributing to and interfacing with mobilities research being undertaken in other parts of the world.
We are delighted to announce that keynotes will be presented by Professor Mimi Sheller, Director New Mobilities Research and Policy Center, Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA; and Professor Peter Adey, Department of Geography, Royal Holloway University of London, UK.
We invite submissions of abstracts for paper presentations on all dimensions of mobilities research.
Please submit abstracts through the form below by the close of business on Friday 15 September. Acceptance of papers will be confirmed in late September along with further details including timing and format of presentations.
This event is kindly sponsored by the School of Geography at the University of Melbourne. There will be no registration fee to attend the symposium.
